Meet krista cain

my birth DILEMMA

When I was pregnant with my first, I got very mixed messages from care providers, online resources, friends and family.

I wondered…was I a birth goddess who could it all? Was I too (insert any number of labels) to think about going into labor naturally? Was birth so chaotic that I might as well give up and not even try for the birth I wanted?

It was daunting.

SOLUTION

In order to get reliable info & support, we made two of the best decisions we could have made: 1) take a Lamaze class and 2) hire a doula. And at age 35 I gave birth for the first time.

The experience blew my mind!

CAREER CHANGE

I was so transformed by it that I left my work as a high school teacher & lacrosse coach, which I loved, in order to dedicate myself to birth work. Everyone deserves a positive birth experience and I wanted to help make that a reality.

Somewhere between babies #2 & #3, I became a Lamaze instructor myself and I fell in love with the work and the families I serve.

I trained with DONA International as a birth doula and postpartum doula. And I studied placenta encapsulation with Deb Pocica.

tHESE DAYS

Years into birth work, I continue to hone my own skills and keep up on the research 1) so that you don’t have to and 2) because I love it. Ask me anything! I’ll tell you everything I know. And if I don’t know the answer, I’ll help you find it (from a *reputable source*…no more googling at 2am, okay?!).

And I’m still amazed by childbirth. Every. Single. Time. You will be, too.

Yes, there will be surprises along the way but I know from personal and professional experience:

  • you can prepare for this
  • you can build tools for resilience
  • and you can feel empowered throughout your baby’s birth.

I’m here to show you how.
